Online Counselor Aide Training *ended July 31st*

Ages 11- 15

The Counselor Aide Training (CAT) specialized leadership program is designed for campers 11 to 15 years old. The CAT program is for campers who are interested in gaining more responsibility and independence at camp by becoming a Counselor Aide. In the CAT program, campers work with our Teen Leadership Coordinator to learn how to manage camper behavior in age-appropriate ways and understand best practices to encourage campers. They will learn how to lead games and activities, self and group reflection techniques, and goal-setting. CATs will also complete one of three guided projects as part of the virtual camp experience. A daily group video call will be held for CAs and CATs to play games, ask questions, and reflect upon the day. The skills learned in the CAT program are skills that our campers can use outside of the camp in school, sports, extracurricular activities, and religious groups.

Eligible campers only have to complete this training once. After they complete the CAT program, they can be a Counselor Aide later that summer or in future summers. Enrollment space for this program is very limited, so enroll today!

Online Counselor Aide Program *ended July 31st*

Ages 11-15 (must complete CAT program first)

Counselor Aides (CAs) are individuals 11 to 15 years old who are learning to assist a counselor with a camper group for the week. CAs help lead group games and activities. During virtual camp, CAs will model positive behaviors for campers in group video calls and lead several group activities and/or icebreakers with supervision from the counselors. CAs will also complete one of three guided projects as part of the virtual camp experience (first week only, not consecutive weeks). The CA program is designed to be a leadership and mentorship program. Our staff is trained to create opportunities that will allow their Counselor Aide to practice skills working with younger campers while still allowing time for CAs to have fun and participate in activities. A daily group video call will be held for CAs and CATs to play games, ask questions, and reflect upon the day.

CAs must have completed the Counselor Aide in Training (CAT) program in a previous session or during a previous summer. This program is only offered during summer camp. For the 2020 season, CAT training will be offered as a Virtual Camp program beginning June 1st.
